Cricket Namibia is the custodian of all cricket structures and programs in Namibia. Cricket Namibia is advertising the position of Head of Northern Cricket Development Officer. Applications are now open to suitably qualified and experienced candidates.

Role Overview
The Head of Northern Cricket Development Officer is responsible for the strategic development, management, and sustainability of community cricket programmes across the Northern regions of Namibia. The role focuses on establishing year-round cricket participation and performance pathways for young people aged 7-15, while strengthening school engagement, community involvement, and talent identification systems.
Key Responsibilities
1. Programme Development and Delivery
- Establish, manage, and sustain a minimum of four community cricket hub environments across the Northern region, operating throughout the year.
- Develop at least two sustainable, inclusive, community-led cricket hubs.
- Design and implement high-performance cricket programmes that increase participation and progression opportunities among schools and communities.
- Ensure structured development pathways for players aged 7-15, enhancing skill progression and long-term engagement.
2. Talent Identification and Pathways
- Develop and implement talent identification systems, including outreach to non-participating youth.
- Facilitate smooth transitions of identified talent into appropriate playing environments and programmes.
- Align development activities with national frameworks, including the Ashburton Kwata Players Pathway.
3. School and Community Engagement
- Strengthen partnerships with schools to introduce and expand cricket programmes.
- Promote inclusive access to cricket for all participants regardless of background.
- Support community-based cricket initiatives to enhance participation at grassroots level.
4. Competitions and Events
- Organise and deliver structured competitions for schools and communities in various cricket formats.
- Increase opportunities for competitive participation to enhance engagement and talent exposure.
- Coordinate logistics and ensure successful execution of cricket events and tournaments.
5. Coaching and Capacity Building
- Recruit, manage, and oversee casual coaches and volunteers.
- Deliver training, mentoring, and continuous support to coaches, players, and families.
- Enhance the quality of coaching through structured development programmes and trainer-of-trainers initiatives.
6. Monitoring, Reporting, and Administration
- Maintain accurate office and electronic filing systems.
- Manage programme budgets and ensure financial accountability.
- Produce and submit regular performance, monitoring, and impact reports to internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Experience
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in programme development, with at least 6 years in a supervisory role.
• Demonstrated experience in:
- Developing, managing, and delivering cricket/sports activities.
- Using sport as a tool for development in schools and communities.
- Organising competitions, events, and development initiatives.
- Managing budgets and monitoring programme finances.
- Overseeing coaches and community volunteers.
- Delivering safe, structured, and engaging coaching environments.
Qualifications and Requirements
- CSA Level 2 or ICC Level 1 Coaching Certification.
- Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Willingness to travel extensively and work flexible hours, including weekends.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.

- Experience in training trainers and building local capacity.
- Proven managerial and administrative competence.
