Cricket Namibia is the custodian of all cricket structures and programs in Namibia. Cricket Namibia is advertising the position of National Women’s Assistant Coach. Applications are now open to suitably qualified and experienced candidates.
JOB OVERVIEW
The successful candidate will be the National Women’s Assistant Coach. The position will focus on the development of the pipeline of girls into the women’s program and prepare players for national teams at senior and u/19 level.
JOB SPECIFICATION
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will be wide-ranging and broad and in line with Cricket Namibia’s Strategic Plan for female cricket development. It includes activities relating to the Women’s program, player pipeline, talent identification, program coordination and coaching in development programs. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assistant coach of the National Women’s team.
- Coach and administrator of the female player pipeline
- Coordination of female development programs and female academies.
- Active coaching of the u/19 female program.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Facilitating, coaching and coordinating female and girls cricket development programs.
• The candidate must be willing to be based in Windhoek and travel a minimum of 10 days per month
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
The main areas of responsibility under the job specification are classified below:
1) Assistant coach of the National Women’s team.
- Tour with the national team during home-and-away tournaments.
- Assist in the preparation of the national women’s team.
2) Coach and administrator of the female player pipeline.
- Coach, monitor and track players in the pipeline.
- Arrange regular training camps and coaching programs.
- Work with Regional Centre coaches to identify and coach women and girls in the program.
3) Coordination of female development programs and female academies.
- Drive the girls development program throughout the country.
- Arrange camps and festivals.
- Handle all logistics of the program.
4) Active coaching of the u/19 girls program.
- Administer and coach the u/19 female program.
- Set up camps and training sessions.
- Prepare the team for African Qualifier and other Pathway events.
BASIC SKILL REQUIREMENTS
The basic skills and relevant experience required for the position:
- Good communication skills in written and verbal mediums.
Skilled in logistics of events and day-to-day arrangements.
Proactive planning
Be able to work with a team of professionals and in an office environment.
Computer literate and efficient on Excell. - Compilation of documents for distribution.
