Join Cricket Victoria – As our Finance Officer
We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Officer to join our Finance team on a part-time basis (0.8), to manage and maintain the day-to-day financial transactions and processes of Cricket Victoria with a key focus on integrity and use of financial systems.
The Role
Key Responsibilities:
- Executing end-to-end processing of fortnightly supplier payments, allowances and reimbursements.
- Maintaining accounts payable reporting, communicating overdue items and actions required.
- Managing purchase order processes and company credit card processes.
- Executing end-to-end processing of fortnightly honorarium payments to umpires, scorers and paid volunteers.
- Debtor processing including invoicing, receipting, banking and journal entries.
- Managing accounts receivable reporting and debtor follow up on overdue items.
- Debt collection, including generating statements, communications with debtors and maintaining documentation of correspondence with debtors via Salesforce.
- Coaching and educating employees across all accounts payable and accounts receivable processes and procedures.
- Completing daily bank reconciliations.
- Assisting the Senior Financial Accountant with month end processes relating to accounts receivable, accounts payable and banking including daily balance sheet reconciliations, as well as completion of the annual FBT return.
- Managing all aspects of the Cricket Victoria motor vehicle fleet.
- Managing contra accounts including communication of remaining balances to relevant stakeholders.
- Completing monthly BAS returns within allocated timeframes for review by Senior Financial Accountant.
About You:
Essential
- Experience in Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable within a corporate organisation (experienced graduate)
- Experience in preparation of EFT payment batches and monthly debtor and creditor reconciliations
- Advanced skills in MS Excel
- Accurate data entry skills and the ability to review thoroughly coding entries by others using guides provided by Cricket Victoria
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both internally and externally
- A high level of professionalism, attention to detail and the ability to manage conflicting priorities
- A highly organised team player, with excellent time management skills and continuous improvement mindset
- Valid Victorian Employee Working with Children Check o
Desirable
- Experience in online banking tools
- Experience in working with Xero or related accounting software
- Experience with integration tools such as Dext, Approval Max and Weel or similar would be highly regarded though not essential
- An understanding of internal controls and compliance to policy principles
