Remuneration: £28,000 - £33,000
Main Office Location: Sophia Gardens, Cardiff (remote or hybrid working considered)

We are looking for a passionate, organised, and people-focused team player to support the delivery of inclusive, and inspiring cricket programmes. Working alongside our Cricket Programmes Lead, you will help design and deliver opportunities, that attract and retain players, volunteers, and officials – making cricket more accessible and enjoyable for everyone, everywhere.
You will work with clubs, schools, leagues, and community partners to help run competitions, deliver events, and develop new, exciting ways to get involved in the game. From supporting junior cricket to street cricket to helping inspire volunteers and officials, you will play a key role in bringing our vision of Criced, A Sport for All to life.

Cricket in Wales – Creating Captivating Ways to Be Involved in Cricket
Cricket Wales recently launched a brand new, exciting and dynamic strategy, developed in partnership with Glamorgan Cricket, to ensure that cricket in Wales thrives, now and into the future. At the heart of this vision is our commitment to Criced, A Sport For All, ensuring people of all ages and backgrounds have exciting and meaningful ways to engage with the sport. By offering clear, compelling and innovative programmes, we aim to enhance the cricketing experience and grow our community offer.
To help deliver this bold vision, we are recruiting a passionate and proactive Assistant Cricket Programmes Lead to join our growing team.
This individual will support the development and delivery of a diverse range of cricket programmes that attract and retain players, volunteers and officials, helping to build a thriving and dynamic cricketing environment.
The post holder will play an essential role within our participation team, reporting to the Cricket Programmes Lead. They will collaborate with clubs, schools, leagues and stakeholders to assist in implementing inclusive and innovative cricketing opportunities across Wales.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting Clear and Engaging Cricket Offers
- Assist in the delivery of clear, accessible and creative cricket programmes for participants of all backgrounds and abilities.
- Support the implementation of national and regional initiatives aligned with our strategic pillars.
- Help ensure cricketing opportunities are welcoming, inclusive and engaging at every level
Helping to Deliver Thriving Competitions & Events
- Support the organisation and coordination of competitions, leagues and community events
- Work alongside local partners to ensure competitions are well-structured, inclusive and inspiring
- Assist with monitoring and evaluation to improve future delivery
Encouraging Innovation in Participation
- Contribute to the development of new cricket formats and flexible playing offers that engage new audiences such as Street Cricket.
- Support efforts to introduce and trial innovative approaches in cricket delivery, including digital enhancements.
- Help promote modern, accessible ways to get involved in the game.
Supporting Youth Cricket Experiences
- Assist in delivering fun and engaging junior cricket programmes in schools, clubs and communities
- Work closely with partners to ensure a positive first experience for all young participants
- Contribute to programmes that provide clear opportunities for young players to enjoy, develop and progress
- Help provide clear signposting and support for people moving through participation pathways
- Assist with maintaining accurate records and insights into programme reach and impact
Inspiring Volunteers and Officials
- Support the promotion and coordination of volunteering and officiating opportunities
- Help deliver initiatives that welcome, develop and retain volunteers across the game
- Provide administrative and logistical support for training, events and recognition activity
Required Skills and Experience
Experience working in sport, community development or programme delivery
- Strong organisation and communication skills
- Experience in using data management portals.
- A team player with a proactive and positive attitude
- Ability to work with a range of stakeholders and support inclusive, community-led initiatives
- A passion for creating positive experiences in sport
Desirable Experience & Attributes
Previous experience in a similar support or assistant role within sport
- Knowledge of grassroots or community cricket in Wales or the UK
- Familiarity with volunteer support and event coordination
- Confidence using technology to support programme delivery and communications
- Welsh language proficiency, or a willingness to develop Welsh language skills
