Requires occasional domestic travel during the summer.

Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Glamorgan County Cricket Club (GCCC) for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Academy and Pathway Strength and Conditioning (S&C) Coach to join our Science and Medicine Department. Reporting to the Men’s Lead S&C Coach; the Academy and Pathway S&C Coach will work alongside the Academy Physiotherapist to support the athletic development of Academy and Pathway squads. In addition, the Academy and Pathway S&C Coach will assist the Men’s Lead S&C coach in the content and delivery of the senior programme when required.
The successful candidate will work within a wider S&M team including a sports doctor, physiotherapists, nutritionist and sports psychologists. They will deliver a comprehensive athletic development programme, based on sound S&C principles. Experience of working with developing athletes in sport organisations is essential. Previous experience working in cricket is not required.

Main Duties
• Develop and lead a clear Athletic Development programme for the Glamorgan Boy’s Academy and Pathway
• Lead and deliver the (S&C) provision to all players within the Glamorgan Academy throughout the year, incorporating various stages of the season (e.g. pre and in season).
• Deliver a minimum of two weekly sessions to all full academy players and manage the remote delivery of physical preparation of players that are in boarding schools.
• Plan and deliver (S&C) provision to Glamorgan Pathway players.
• Undertake physical performance testing with Boy’s Academy players 3 times per year along with integrated individual monitoring to ensure the efficacy of the training programs. Being accountable for the uploading and storage of this testing data to ECB platforms.
• Deliver high quality S&C provision and management to produce robust and physically primed young fast bowlers. Including workload management and analysis.
• Lead on GCCC intern recruitment, education and leadership to support pathway coaching delivery.
• Co-ordinate the delivery of other physical preparation services (e.g. nutrition, sleep, lifestyle, recovery, travel, hygiene) throughout the GCCC youth development system.
• Using researched based scientific principles to aid in the development and delivery of a physical literacy
• To provide 2nd XI cover throughout the cricket season at both home matches and training.
• Work alongside GCCC Physiotherapists and the Men’s Lead S&C Coach to provide rehabilitation to injured players.
• In collaboration with the cricket coaching staff deliver appropriate physical preparation to academy players on training and home match days.
• Contribute to the annual ECB Science and Medicine Audit
• Attend and contribute to support staff meetings.
• Liaise with the ECB S&C team regarding support and management for England U19 players at GCCC.
• Undertake appropriate professional development to keep informed of best practice and current evidence-based research.
• Participate in intra-department led CPD presentations.
• To carry out any other duties that may be required by management and that are within the successful candidate's capabilities.

• UKSCA accreditation (or ability to achieve in 6 months)
• Graduate qualification in Sports Science and/or S&C
• Experience of working with developing athletes in professional sport

• Practical knowledge of injury rehabilitation and prevention training
• Practical knowledge of nutrition and recovery to support performance and health
• Practical knowledge of monitoring and analysis systems
• Leadership skills and ability to influence individuals and key stakeholders

• Current basic life support training (or willing to complete).
• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office
• Full driving license.
• Right to work in the U.K.

• Postgraduate degree in related subject.
• Experience of working in cricket.
• Experience using physical testing equipment (e.g. force plates)
• Experience of using GPS and knowledge of readiness to train protocols and
workload management
• Level 1 ISAK accreditation
