Glamorgan County Cricket Club are seeking to appoint Casual Coaches to the new Early Engagement Program (EEP). The EEP is positioned at U10-12 for both the Girls and Boys program. The program involves both winter practice and summer days where coaches will work on an ‘as required’, flexible basis.
We are looking for coaches with a minimum level 2 (Core coach) ECB coaching qualification, plus experience in coaching these age groups, ideally within a pathway cricket environment.
The key aims of the EEP are to:
• Broaden the talent base and increase the connection between the recreational game and the talent pathway.
• Increase diversity within our talent pathways.
• Build foundational competencies to enable players to perform to their maximum capability over time.
• Inspire players to have a lifelong engagement in cricket.
Casual Coach Role:
• Hands on delivery of coaching sessions in EEP centres across Wales as required
• Ensure the EEP players are inspired, challenged, and engaged in sessions through the winter and summer program days.
• Work as part of a team of coaches within sessions
• To lead session elements with a player-centred approach, utilising coaching knowledge, and skills
• Ensure a strong commitment to the safety and welfare of children with the understanding of individual circumstances
• Keep up to date with best coaching practice and apply into sessions with ongoing development
• Ensure compliance with Glamorgan policies and code of conduct
Qualifications and certifications required for role:
• Minimum Level 2 (Core) qualified cricket coach
• Valid First Aid certificate
• Valid ECB e-learning safeguarding module certificate
• Completion of the mandatory ECB talent Pathway Safeguarding Training
• ECBCA Insurance
• ECB Enhanced DBS Certificate
Renumeration:
Coach’s rates are set hourly based on level of qualification. Summer days of the program are set at a daily rate. Travel expenses are paid per mile.
