Co‑hosted by Australia and New Zealand and operated by a Local Organising Committee (LOC), the tournament will bring together the world’s best teams and players, billions of fans and two nations passionate about delivering unforgettable global events. Across October and November 2028, cricket’s fastest and most exciting format will take centre stage on a truly global platform.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

This is an exciting time for us as we build our team to deliver the world cup. The Head of Finance is a key leadership role responsible for leading end-to-end financial planning, analysis, and control to support the successful delivery of the tournament. The role drives budgeting, forecasting, and performance insights, while ensuring robust financial governance, reporting, and oversight of financial operations, procurement, and compliance. If you are a commercially astute finance leader with the drive and energy to help deliver a world-class event, we want to hear from you.

The position is a fixed-term opportunity running until March 2029.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • CPA / CA qualified, with a relevant tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Economics or similar
  • Extensive experience (7+ years) in senior finance leadership roles within complex, multi-stakeholder environments
  • Strong expertise in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and three-way modelling
  • Proven background in financial control, including reporting, audit, compliance, and governance
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality, insight-led reporting to Executive and Board stakeholders
  • Commercially astute, with the ability to translate financial data into clear, actionable insights
  • Experience leading, developing, and inspiring high-performing finance teams
  • Highly effective stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Advanced financial systems capability, including strong Excel skills and a focus on process improvement and automation
  • Ability to operate at pace, manage competing priorities, and deliver outcomes in a dynamic environment
  • Experience in major events, sport or project-based environments and exposure to international financial operations, desirable
