As well as our dedicated team of Community Cricket Coaches, we rely on ‘Casual’ Coaches to help us deliver our programmes within the Community- taking cricket to many that might not get opportunities to play at clubs or schools. Casual coaches are either on zero hours contracts with KCCC, or are independent, self-employed coaches that invoice for their work. There is no expectation on how many hours you work during a week/month/year and pay is hourly at competitive rates that can vary depending on the project and funding. You will receive kit and equipment to use on any projects as well as any necessary training and development required.

Some of the programmes we are looking for casual coaches to support on are:

  • Street Cricket – Funded by Chance to Shine, Street Cricket is a nationwide initiative that takes cricket to inner city or urban Areas, aimed at engaging participants from 8-24 years for fun, active sessions.
  • Super 1’s Hubs – provided through Lords Taverners, Super 1s gives young people aged 12-25 with disabilities the chance to regularly play cricket. By creating community cricket hubs for young people to receive coaching, compete against peers and enjoy the benefits of sport and an active lifestyle.
  • Holiday Camps – Camps for children during the school holidays at various locations.
  • Masterclasses – Coach with Kent players at our Masterclasses.
  • Tour Groups – based at our venues at Canterbury and Beckenham, tour groups give exchange students a chance to experience cricket often for the first time.
  • Walking Cricket – For those looking for slower paced opportunities to enjoy our beautiful game.
  • Kent Cricket Community Trust events – our KCC Trust run events year-round with various partners to engage the community- find out more here- https://www.kentcricket.co.uk/kcct/

Many sessions will take place during evenings or weekends, whilst some take place during the day, there are opportunities for all to fit around other commitments such as work or study. The successful candidate will be required to undergo an Enhanced ECB DBS with relevant barred list check
