JOB TITLE: Community Cricket Coach
REPORTS TO: Coach Development Manager

Summary of Role
Kent Cricket Foundation is recruiting for an exciting role as a Community Cricket Coach , to join our team working across the county and the London Boroughs of Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich and Lewisham .
Successful candidates will have a specific SEND focus, working across the recreational game in a variety of settings including but not limited to, Schools, Clubs, and Urban Hubs, delivering coaching, competitions, events and training for those involved.
We are looking for energetic, engaging and adaptable people who can build strong relationships with children and young people from a wide range of backgrounds. The ability to create a fun, inclusive and positive environment is central to this role. Previous cricket coaching experience is valuable, but we are equally interested in candidates with transferable experience from youth work, teaching, community sport, disability provision or other child -focused settings.
Working Pattern & Remuneration
This post is full -time ( 35 hours per week), primarily Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm , however this may vary depending on your final work plan . The post holder will be expected to work some evenings and weekends as and when required to facilitate out of school programmes and the different demands throughout the year.
The salary is £2 5,000 per annum.
You will receive 23 days annual leave + bank holidays.
Background
Kent Cricket Foundation is the charitable arm of Kent County Cricket Club and one of 39 county cricket boards in England and Wales , responsible for maintaining and developing the recreational game, promoting cricket as ‘a sport for all’ across the county .
With headquarters at The St Lawrence Ground in Canterbury, and our satellite ground at The County Ground, Beckenham, we are able to reach all communities across Kent and the four London Boroughs of Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich and Lewisham – driving participation from community and schools’ cricket to the professional game.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
This role is essential in delivering the ECB ‘ Inspiring Generations 2.0’ strategic plan and the Kent Cricket Foundation Strategic Plan 2025 - 28 across the county. You will play a major role in our objective to ‘ Inspire Children and Young People through Cricket’ by implementing our Schools Delivery Plan , and other community programmes , in conjunction with Chance to Shine and Lord Taverners , support ing the growth of the game and inspiring a new generation of players, fans and leaders.
This role will have a strong focus on SEND environments including in and out of school activities.
The following is a list of the expected main duties:
• Liaise with school senior leadership to deliver Schools programmes , including,
o High quality curricular PE lessons.
o Extra-curricular cricket sessions, assemblies, and classroom -based lessons, to engage and inspire children to participate both in school and transition to out of school cricket opportunities.
o Formal and informal teacher training sessions, enabling teachers and school staff to become confident to deliver cricket lessons themselves.
• Deliver Street Cricket and Super 1’s sessions , as well as other cricket programmes and
Foundation events.
• Engage with local clubs, and community settings to promote out of school cricket opportunities for young people.
• Promote chances to play cricket at every opportunity to drive growth of the game .
• Ensure that all monitoring and evaluation is submitted monthly , accurately and to deadlines.
Additionally, the role will be required to:
• Attend meetings relevant to the post, both virtually and face -to-face
• Undertake any other duties that might reasonably be deemed within the status of the job and appropriate to the post.
• Champion safeguarding, equality and the well -being of all children and adults at risk in
all your work areas .
• Recognise that safeguarding children and adults at risk is everyone's concern and ensure all incidents or concerns are reported without delay to the County Safeguarding Officer

Qualifications, Skills, Experience and Personal Attributes
To fulfil this role, successful candidates must have completed ECB Core Coach qualification (or equivalent historic or overseas course).
We would welcome applications from candidates with the right attributes and experience of working with children and young people that have not yet gained ECB qualifications, the successful candidate will be supported to complete the required qualification following appointment, with training arranged and funded by Kent Cricket Foundation.
Candidates will also be required to complete ECB Safeguarding Level 2, Enhanced ECB DBS Check, First Aid Training , and be come a member of the ECB Coaches Association , if these are not already in place.
Essential
• Able to work effectively both remotely/independently and as part of a team .
• Able to communicate clearly and efficiently in person, over the phone and via email.
• Computer literate, particularly with Microsoft programmes and web -based applications
• Able to manage your own calendar and work schedule.
• Committed to continued professional development and attend training as and when required by Kent Cricket Foundation.
• Full Driving License, with insurance to cover working across multiple sites and ability to
travel independently.
• Passion for developing recreational cricket in all its forms.
• Naturally engaging, approachable and confident when working with children and young people.
• Able to create fun, energetic and inclusive sessions that encourage participation.
• Able to adapt communication and delivery for different ages, abilities and backgrounds,
including SEND participants.
Desirable
• Experience of engaging, teaching, coaching, mentoring or supporting children and young people in sport, education, youth work or community settings.
• Experience of working within an education environment.
• Experience of working in SEND environments.
• Experience of delivering outstanding customer service.
• Experience of sales and promotion of products or services.
• Knowledge of current cricket programmes and pathways (e.g., Street Cricket, Disability
Cricket, the club network, leagues and competitions.)
