REPORTS TO: Commercial Team
CONTRACT: Full time (Intern)
SALARY: Contribution to travel expenses
BASED AT: The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence, Canterbury (with occasional travel)
Summary of Role:
Kent Cricket is looking for a motivated student to join our team for an unpaid placement as a Marketing & Sales Assistant.
This placement offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in sales and marketing within a professional sports club. The successful candidate will work closely with our team to support marketing campaigns, assist with sales strategies, and gain valuable industry insight.
Other Details:
Normal working hours will be 09:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday (inclusive), including one-hour unpaid lunch on each day worked. The post holder will be based at The Spitfire Ground, St. Lawrence but travel to The County Ground, Beckenham may be required to assist on match days. Due to the nature of the work, the post holder will carry out his/her/their duties as such times/days which are most effective to perform the tasks required. This may involve some out of hours work – evenings, weekends, Bank Holidays, as necessary.
Background:
Kent Cricket is one of only 18 first-class county cricket clubs in England and Wales. From our headquarters at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence in Canterbury, and with a satellite ground at The County Ground, Beckenham, we are responsible for the growth and development of all cricket across Kent and our four London Boroughs of Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich and Lewisham - from community and schools’ cricket to the professional game.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
• Assist in developing and implementing marketing campaigns
• Conduct market research and competitor analysis
• Support content creation for social media, email marketing, and website updates
• Assist in organising promotional events and campaigns
• Help maintain customer databases and CRM systems
• Support the sales team with lead generation and follow-ups
• Analyse marketing performance and prepare reports
• Collaborate with different departments to ensure marketing objectives are met
• Provide administrative support to the sales and marketing team as needed
• Match day and Events Duties:
o Helping to deliver matchday coverage across owned channels, giving fans the best access on and off the field
o Support the distribution of content across all fan screens, including kentcricket.co.uk, inground screens, and in-bowl screens

Qualifications, Skills, Experience and Personal Attributes:
• Currently enrolled in a Sales, Marketing, Business, or related degree
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail
• Knowledge of social media platforms and digital marketing trends
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Enthusiasm and willingness to learn
• Clear communication skills and a strong command of the English language (Fluency in English, written and spoken)
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work within a team and to contribute to the overall success of the Club
• Multitasking skills and good organisational abilities
• A desire to deliver first-class customer service
• An ability to build strong working relationships
