The Opportunity
To help us achieve our ambitions, we are seeking to appoint a Cricket Development Coach to join our Executive team, and to support the delivery and execution of the cricket participation element of our first strategy.
Joining us as a Cricket Development Coach will afford you the opportunity to play an important role in supporting the delivery of cricket programmes across Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland. Your contribution will help us
widen participation and strengthen community engagement in support of the L&RCF ‘This is Our Game, This is My Game’ strategy.
In a Cricket Development Coach, we are seeking to recruit an individual that excels through:

• Support for delivering new and exciting places to play across the County

• A drive to improve cricket experiences for players of all ages in clubs, schools and community settings
• The ability to support partnerships across the County to increase cricket participation and its wellbeing impact
• A willingness to inspire and empower volunteers to grow cricket in their own communities
Responsibilities
• Support the Cricket Participation team in delivering key programmes and initiatives
• Deliver coaching sessions primarily in urban and community settings across the region
• Connect schools and local hubs to create ongoing cricket participation opportunities
• Identify and encourage new players and new areas of cricket interest
• Assist in growing the volunteer workforce within recreational hubs
• Deliver sessions through our partner programmes (e.g. Chance to Shine, ACE, Lord’s Taverners Wicketz, Women & Girls offers, Street Cricket)
• Build positive relationships with schools, colleges and community organisations
• Maintain a strong focus on safeguarding and inclusive practice
• Provide basic reporting on participation and programme delivery
• Support matchday activity where required
• Undertake reasonable tasks requested by your line manager connected to participation delivery
Experience
• Experience of coaching and engaging children and young people
• Experience delivering high-quality cricket or sport sessions
• Confidence working in community environments and with diverse groups
• An understanding of the barriers to participation in sport
• Ability to support projects, events and schedules effectively
• Experience working independently and as part of a team
• Experience developing productive working relationships with partners and volunteers

• Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
Personal requirements
• Willingness to participate in relevant training and development opportunities.
• Current driving licence and access to a car with business insurance.
• Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) clearance required prior to commencement.
• The post-holder must be willing to travel and work evenings and weekends as the role requires.
• Valid First Aid certificate (required prior to commencement)
• Valid ECB Safeguarding for Specialist Roles (required prior to commencement)
• A minimum of ECB Foundation Coach certificate or equivalent
General

All stages of recruitment will follow Safer Recruitment guidelines. References will be sought upon offer of employment and depending on job role, background checks may be required. Upon commencement of employment, all new starters are required to undertake ECB and Club safeguarding training (level dependent on role undertaken) and read and understand Safe Hands guidance and our Club safeguarding policies and procedures.
Location: Uptonsteel County Ground.
Remuneration: from £23,133
Time Commitment: 35 Hours per week
Availability Monday – Sunday (Daytime/Evening)
