Limpopo Impala Cricket is a registered Non-Profit Company and the custodian of professional and amateur cricket activities within Limpopo Province. Purpose of the Role

The successful candidate will support and assist the Head Coach of the Limpopo Professional Team in creating and maintaining a high-performance cricket environment. The Assistant Coach will work closely with all existing coaching and performance structures within Limpopo Impala Cricket (NPC) to ensure continuous player development and team success.

Key Accountabilities

  • Serve as Assistant Coach to the Head Coach and Professional Team to ensure delivery of integrated and high-performance cricket programmes.
  • Assist with planning and implementing player development programmes, training schedules, and match preparation.
  • Support player performance monitoring, analysis, and reporting.
  • Assist in maintaining professional standards, discipline, and team culture.
  • Oversee and support player development pathways and talent identification programmes within Limpopo cricket structures.
  • Promote a culture of excellence through appropriate coaching methodologies and leadership.
  • Ensure support systems and performance structures are enhanced to sustain professional standards.
  • Assist with scouting and recruitment of talented players within the province and broader cricket system.
  • Work collaboratively with support staff including Strength & Conditioning, Physiotherapy, Medical, and Team Management personnel
  • Demonstrate professionalism, leadership, integrity, and commitment to organisational values and transformation objectives.
  • Participate in official cricket activities, camps, tours, meetings, and stakeholder engagements

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum CSA Level 3 Coaching Qualification.
  • Sport Management or related qualification will be an added advantage.
  • Valid Driver’s Licence.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years’ coaching experience at provincial, academy, or professional cricket level.
  • Experience coaching within a high-performance environment.
  • Experience in player identification and development pathways.
    Understanding and application of Cricket South Africa transformation objectives.
  • Experience playing professional or first-class cricket will be advantageous.
  • International coaching or playing exposure will serve as an added advantage.

  • Strong understanding of high-performance cricket systems and player development.
  • Knowledge of Cricket South Africa domestic cricket structures and pathways.
  • Ability to identify, develop, and manage talented cricketers.
  • Strong planning, organisational, and reporting skills.
    Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet performance objectives.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic administrative functions.
    Understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and sporting governance frameworks.

Other Requirements

Location

The position will be based within Limpopo Province, Polokwane Cricket Club
