KEY PURPOSE OF ROLE
The Women’s Performance Analyst will provide world-class analytical support to the London Spirit Women’s Team throughout The Hundred season and in the squad-building phase.
This role will deliver insights that inform recruitment, preparation, performance, and review processes. The successful candidate will work closely with the Women’s General Manager, Head Coach, skills coaches, and players to ensure data-informed decisions that enhance performance and contribute to competitive advantage.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND PRIORITIES
Playing Style & Recruitment Analysis
- Develop an objective understanding of what it takes to win The Hundred.
- Contribute analysis towards player retentions and direct signings.
- Play a major role in the preparation, organisation, and execution of the Player Auction.
- Provide regular performance updates on players of interest ahead of the auction.
Player and Squad Analysis
- Deliver post-auction and pre-competition analysis of the team’s overall squad and individual players.
- Inform player development planning, programming, and preparation as required by coaches
- Produce regular performance updates of contracted players leading up to The Hundred playing period.
Opposition and Venue Analysis
- Conduct pre-match opposition analysis to identify tactical opportunities.
- Collaborate with tactical leaders and coaches to produce detailed opposition plans.
Game Support
- Support and inform team selection decision-making.
- Provide real-time match analysis to coaches and leadership staff during games.
Review & Reporting
- Compile post-match reports with key insights and learnings.
- Present visual and statistical feedback to players and coaches.
- Produce end-of-auction and end-of-competition reviews and reports, as directed by the Head Coach or Director of Cricket.
Data Management, Integrity and Evolution
- Work with the Lead Analyst to build and automate dashboards and applications for efficient access to performance data.
- Monitor data quality, integrity, and security across all analytical systems.
- Contribute to positioning London Spirit as a world leader in AI and analytics.
Leadership
- Collaborate with the Lead Analyst to review and refine analytical systems and processes, supporting the evolution of best practice across the organisation.
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS - SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in sports performance analysis, specifically within professional cricket.
- Strong technical skills in data analysis, data visualisation and video analysis.
- Ability to present and communicate complex analytical insights clearly and effectively to players and coaches.
- Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and a general curiosity for problem-solving.
- A passion for Women’s cricket and advancing performance through data-informed decision-making.
