Department: Food & Beverage
Reporting to: Operations Executive (Suites) / Senior Operations Manager (Events)
Contract: Fixed Term Contract (March 2026 – September 2026)

DIMENSIONS OF ROLE

Normal working hours will be five shifts of 9 hour rostered between Monday to Sunday, including one-hour unpaid lunch on each day worked: making a total of 40 hours working hours per week.

KEY PURPOSE OF ROLE

Lead the front of house delivery and presentation of premium suites and world-class events at MCC, ensuring exceptional standards across all operations. You’ll oversee suite setup and maintenance, food and beverage service, staff training and stock control, and foster a positive team culture. The role also plays a key part in delivering seamless events and experiences at Lord’s, maintaining compliance and creating outstanding guest experiences.

KEY TASKS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Suites

  • Manage a team to set-up the suites and deliver exceptional matchday customer service throughout the season.
  • Work closely with internal stake holders to ensure all suites are kept to the highest standard of presentation.
  • Ensure all relevant match day checks are completed and followed up, as required.
  • Complete all pre and post season checks on suite related equipment, ensuring they are regularly maintained as required.
  • Work alongside the Operations Executive to coordinate and deliver training to staff working and operating within the suites.
  • Feed into and maintain the suites Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Lead on stock management across the suites via electronic tablets.
  • Drive the high level of teamwork and create a positive working culture for staff members.
  • Assist the Staffing Team in any recruitment and assessment days.

Events and Experiences

  • Support the delivery of all Events and Experiences at MCC, bringing energy, professionalism and understated elegance across food and beverage service operations.
  • Drive high standards in front of house, back of house and bar managing duties across functions such as banquets in the iconic Lord’s Pavilion, conferences, drinks receptions and more.
  • Manage staff across the floor and bar, coordinating food and beverage service delivery alongside the kitchen and logistics team.
  • Lead pre-event briefings, event-day operations and breakdowns, and post-event reviews.
  • Ensure that all operation standards, compliance and manuals are adhered to and kept up-to-date.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS – SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrate hospitality operation experience in a similar business or environment.
  • Proven experience of leading a team in a similar operations role.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food safety and allergen protocols, ensuring compliance and guests safety.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport and effectively communicate with guests, staff and stakeholders.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • High standard of personal presentation.
  • Flexibility in working hours.
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail, critical for ensuring operational excellence and guest satisfaction.
  • Calm and efficient when working under pressure.
  • IT literate – Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
