The Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) manages the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), one of Australia’s most recognised sporting venues. In addition to the MCG, the MCC supports a number of Sporting Sections, including a proud and successful cricket program.
An opportunity has arisen within the Club Services, Sport & Heritage team for an MCC Club Sports Administrator to provide proactive administrative support to MCC Cricket and assist in the delivery of high-quality cricket operations and communications.
About the role
Reporting to the Cricket Lead, this role will:
- Act as Secretary of MCC Cricket Inc., coordinating meetings, agendas, reports and minutes.
- Lead communications for MCC Cricket, including match reports, newsletters, social media and content coordination in partnership with Marketing & Communications.
- Support weekly cricket operations, ensuring match day requirements and logistics are met.
- Maintain accurate scheduling and coordination of venues including the Albert Ground and Beaumaris Secondary College.
- Support volunteer coordination and match day operations.
- Manage cricket apparel ordering and stock requirements.
- Coordinate registrations, team selections and database management systems.
- Provide administrative support across governance, compliance and key cricket initiatives.
- Provide a presence at games, meetings and functions as required.
This role requires strong organisation, attention to detail and the ability to build positive working relationships with players, volunteers, committees and key stakeholders.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A passion for cricket and strong knowledge of the game and club environment.
- Experience providing high-level administrative support.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience liaising with committees, stakeholders and sporting bodies.
- Committee secretarial and minute-taking skills.
- Strong organisational and time management capability.
- A current Victorian Working with Children Check (mandatory requirement).
