The Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) manages the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), one of Australia’s most recognised sporting venues. In addition to the MCG, the MCC oversees multiple owned and leased sporting facilities supporting a number of sporting sections.

An opportunity has arisen within the Club Services, Sport & Heritage team for a Sports Projects & Facilities Lead to coordinate facility master plans, manage concurrent projects, and support the ongoing development of MCC sporting facilities.

About the role

  • Reporting to the Executive Manager, Club Sport and Venues, this role will:
  • Lead the internal coordination and delivery of master plans within the MCC Sporting Sections, including development of project timelines and implementation schedules.
  • Coordinate with sporting sections, members, contractors and internal teams.
  • Monitor progress against master plan objectives and provide reporting to senior stakeholders.
  • Manage and coordinate multiple concurrent projects from initiation through to completion.
  • Develop project scopes and budgets, and liaise with contractors and suppliers to ensure quality delivery on time and on budget.
  • Provide day-to-day oversight of owned and leased MCC Sporting Section facilities.
  • Support broader sporting initiatives and operational improvements across the club.

This is primarily an office-based role with regular travel to club sites and occasional weekend work aligned to project and sporting schedules.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • 5 years’ Experience in project coordination or project management.
  • Experience working within sports facilities, recreation centres or similar environments.
  • Proven track record delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience managing project budgets and reporting.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Availability for occasional weekend work and local travel.
