The Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) manages the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), one of Australia’s most loved and visited sporting venues. Each year, the MCG welcomes over four million visitors and hosts more than 70 major events.
The Club Services, Sport and Heritage department at the MCC supports approximately 157,000 Melbourne Cricket Club members as well as patrons of the MCG. An opportunity has arisen within this team to recruit a Membership Insights Officer to support data analysis, reporting and insight generation across membership services.
About the role
Reporting to the Executive Manager, Integrity and Insights, this role supports the Club Services, Sport and Heritage department by analysing membership and customer data to uncover insights, improve service delivery and support integrity processes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop reports and visualisations to support operations across Club Services, Sport and Heritage.
- Analyse and interpret membership and customer data to identify trends, gaps and improvement opportunities.
- Prepare and present insights using clear storytelling, visuals and concise recommendations for senior and executive stakeholders.
- Collect, cleanse and validate membership data to maintain accuracy and reliability.
- Support implementation of modernised Member Integrity processes, coordinating with internal and external partners.
- Perform data analysis and prepare summary reports on performance against KPI activities such as ticket sales and attendance.
- Support the day to day running of the Membership Services and Systems team, including supporting match day operations as required.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience in statistical analysis and practical proficiency with Excel, SQL, Microsoft Dynamics and data visualisation tools such as Power BI.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, supported by strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proven ability to interpret customer insights from multiple platforms and convert findings into service-improvement opportunities for members.
- Genuine curiosity and enthusiasm for using data to enhance the membership experience and ensure alignment with the Club’s values.
