Millfield School is seeking an experienced and inspirational Head of Cricket to lead and develop its cricket programme for students in Years 9–13. This is a senior coaching and leadership role within our ambitious sports environment, with responsibility for shaping player development, coaching standards and the strategic direction of cricket across the school.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, delivery and ongoing development of Millfield’s cricket programme for boys and girls.
  • Coach teams and individual players throughout the year, with responsibility for a defined player group during the summer season.
  • Design and oversee Individual Development Plans, working closely with students, parents and external partners.
  • Lead the development and performance of the cricket coaching team, supporting high‑quality coaching practice.
  • Build strong links with prep schools, county cricket clubs, universities and governing bodies to support talent development and recruitment.
  • Contribute to the wider life of Millfield School and the continued development of Millfield Sport, including working with the Enterprises team during non-term time to support the commercial development of cricket‑related activities and programmes.

About You

  • An experienced cricket coach with a strong background in high‑performance, professional or school environments.
  • Hold an ECB Level III qualification (or equivalent), with advanced coaching qualifications desirable.
  • An effective leader, able to inspire students and develop colleagues.
  • Knowledgeable about long‑term player development and integrating performance sport within an educational setting.
  • Well organised and proactive, with strong communication skills and an ability to manage planning, logistics and budgets effectively.

Working Hours and Salary

This is a year‑round role working 42 hours per week, typically across Monday to Saturday, with occasional Sunday work required to support fixtures, tournaments or events.
