We're looking for a detail oriented and proactive Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team on a 6 -month fixed-term contract, for 32 hours per week, ending in March 2027. This role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working across financial reporting, revenue management, reconciliations, and taxation in a collaborative environment.
Working closely with the Finance Manager, Senior Accountant, and wider finance team, you'll help ensure the smooth delivery of key finance processes and reporting requirements. Responsibilities
- Manage contractual revenue invoicing and maintain revenue tracking to support accurate financial reporting.
- Monitor debtor collections and work collaboratively with stakeholders to resolve outstanding accounts.
- Support monthly GST and quarterly FBT return preparation, along with resolving taxation variances as required.
- Assist with month-end processes including journals, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Provide support across reporting, reconciliations, surveys, and other ad hoc finance activities.
Experience and Skills
- Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline.
- At least three years' accounting experience with a strong understanding of financial best practices.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems and data.
- Excellent communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
