Position: Cricket Board Administrator

Location: Benwell Hill Cricket Club, Newcastle upon Tyne

Contract: Permanent - 16 hours per week, Monday - Friday (4 days per week)

Salary: £24,454 per annum pro rata (actual £10,575 per annum), plus auto enrolment pension

About the Role

We’re looking for an organised, proactive, and passionate individual to join our team as a Cricket Board Administrator. This role sits at the heart of our operations, ensuring the smooth running of governance, competitions, development programmes, and day‑to‑day administration across the board.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily administrative operations for the Cricket Board.
  • Support the delivery of leagues, fixtures, competitions, and events.
  • Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, take minutes, and manage follow‑up actions.
  • Maintain accurate records, databases, and compliance documentation.
  • Act as the first point of contact for clubs, volunteers, coaches, and partners.
  • Assist with safeguarding, governance, and policy implementation.
  • Support financial processes such as invoicing, budgeting, and grant administration.
  • Collaborate with development officers to deliver participation and community programmes.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Confidence using IT systems (Microsoft Office, databases, scheduling tools).
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to solve problems and prioritise tasks.
  • Experience in sports administration (desirable but not essential).
  • A genuine interest in cricket and community sport.

Supervision and work planning

The Administration role will be based at the Northumberland Cricket office at Benwell Hill Cricket Club in Newcastle upon Tyne.

The normal working working days will be Monday - Friday and will normally be expected to complete at least 16 hours in a week across 4 days during office hours. The employee will not normally be required to work before 9am, however due to the nature of the work involved in this position, the employee will be required to work some evenings and possibly weekends.

The post holder will be required to carry out their duties at such times and on such days that are the most effective to perform the responsibilities of the position.
