Turn your passion for cricket into a meaningful career with Queensland Cricket.

Queensland Cricket is looking for a Coach and Talent Specialist to support grassroots coaches, clubs, and schools across the Darling Downs. This role is hands-on, community-based, and focused on helping junior cricket thrive in regional Queensland.

If you have experience in community sports and pathway program development, enjoy collaborating with volunteers, and aspire to make a significant impact at a local level, we would love to hear from you.

About the Role

You will work closely with community coaches, clubs, associations, and schools to support junior cricket programs and improve coaching capability across the region. Your work will help create positive, welcoming cricket experiences that encourage young players to stay involved and enjoy the game.

This is a relationship-driven role, with plenty of time spent out in clubs, at training, and in the community.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Building strong, trusted relationships with local clubs, associations, and schools
  • Supporting volunteer coaches with practical advice, resources, and mentoring
  • Helping clubs create inclusive, safe, and engaging training environments
  • Planning and delivering coaching workshops and Community Coach Education courses
  • Supporting junior representative programs and regional talent pathways
  • Assisting with junior cricket formats and participation initiatives
  • Be the infrastructure lead within your region, supporting relevant stakeholders with funding information and facility guidelines and standards
  • Helping identify and support emerging talent within the region

Why Join Queensland Cricket?

Queensland Cricket is committed to strengthening cricket in regional communities. In this role, you will:

  • Make a visible impact at grassroots level
  • Work closely with people who are passionate about community sport
  • Build your coaching and development experience in a supportive organisation
  • Be part of a values-driven team that prioritises inclusion, growth, and connection

Why This Role Matters

Local coaches and volunteers are the backbone of regional cricket. This role exists to support them, make their job easier, and help create cricket environments where young people feel welcomed, confident, and excited to play. Strong communities build strong pathways, and this role plays a key part in making that happen across the Darling Downs.
