Event & Venue Operations Lead
Queensland Cricket | Brisbane - Full Time
Delivering live sporting and major events takes planning, coordination and the ability to stay across every moving part.
This role is central to that responsible for the safe, compliant and well-executed delivery of matches and events at Allan Border Field and across Queensland Cricket.
The role
You will lead venue and event operations from planning through to delivery, ensuring everything runs as it should — safely, efficiently and to a consistently high standard.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the planning and delivery of all match day and event operations
- Ensuring WBBL and BBL matches are delivered to a consistently high standard
- Owning WHS and risk management across events, including frameworks, compliance and governance
- Developing and maintaining venue operations manuals, procedures and supporting documentation
- Establishing clear processes to ensure all event activations meet safety and risk requirements
- Working closely with Elite Cricket to ensure a high-quality player environment and experience
- Planning and delivering key events including gala dinners, corporate functions, fan events and foundation initiatives
- Coordinating venue operations at Allan Border Field, including staffing, rostering and resource allocation
- Managing accreditation processes and access requirements
- Ensuring all venue signage and operational requirements are in place
- Working across internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure delivery is consistent and aligned
What matters in this role
- Strong capability in event operations or venue management
- Proven project management and planning capability, with the ability to deliver across multiple events and timelines
- Ability to think ahead and plan at both an operational and strategic level
- A clear understanding of WHS, risk and compliance in a live event environment
- Ability to bring structure through clear processes, documentation and planning
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities across a busy event schedule
- Able to anticipate issues and respond quickly when things shift
- Strong coordination and communication across teams
Experience in sport, stadium or live event environments or project management will be highly regarded.
