General Manager - High Performance

Queensland Cricket is seeking an exceptional executive leader to shape and drive the next chapter of our high-performance cricket system.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the General Manager – High Performance is responsible for setting the strategic direction and leading Queensland Cricket’s Elite Cricket portfolio, including our elite Men’s and Women’s programs (Queensland Bulls, Queensland Fire and the Brisbane Heat – BBL and WBBL)State and Junior Pathways, Match Operations, and Sports Science & Sports Medicine.

This is a rare opportunity to influence one of Australia’s most respected cricket systems creating the environment, leadership and performance frameworks required for sustained success at the highest levels of the game.

The Opportunity

You will lead Queensland Cricket’s high-performance strategy, ensuring our programs, athletes and coaches are supported by a high-performing environment that consistently develops talent and delivers results.

Working closely with Cricket Australia and key high-performance partners, you will help strengthen alignment across the national high-performance framework and ensure Queensland continues to produce elite players, coaches and teams.

The role also provides oversight of Premier Cricket, ensuring the competition continues to play a critical role in identifying, developing and progressing the next generation of elite talent.

Key Areas of Accountability

  • Set and lead the strategic direction of Queensland Cricket’s High-Performance programs
  • Drive performance outcomes across Men’s, Women’s and Pathway teams
  • Lead an integrated high-performance environment across coaching, performance support and operations
  • Oversee match operations and performance services including sports science and sports medicine
  • Guide the future direction of Premier Cricket to ensure strong alignment with elite pathways
  • Provide performance oversight through data, insights and defined performance measures
  • Contribute to Executive and Board reporting on strategy, performance and outcomes

About You

You are an accomplished executive leader with experience operating in high-performance environments where results, people and systems must align.

You combine clear strategic direction with disciplined execution and are recognised for your ability to build environments where athletes, coaches and teams can thrive.

Importantly, you are a strong executive people-first leader who understands that sustainable results are built on trust, clarity, accountability and strong relationships.

Your experience may include:

  • Strategic leadership within high-performance or elite sport environments
  • Executive stakeholder engagement and influence
  • Leadership of complex performance systems or programs
  • Strong understanding of performance metrics and high-performance environments
  • Experience working at an Executive Leadership Level

You will also demonstrate the leadership capabilities required for modern high-performance environments, including:

  • Empathy and emotional intelligence
  • Adaptability and resilience
  • Critical thinking and sound judgement
  • Decisiveness and accountability
  • Innovative thinking and continuous improvement
  • Data-informed decision making
