About the Role
- The Event Operations Lead will play a key role in coordinating, planning and implementing match and venue operations, and fan experience for W/BBL and Domestic cricket in South Australia and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy. This role will also involve significant responsibilities in managing key relationships with venue, Cricket Australia and other stakeholders and acting in a way that is aligned with SACA’s strategic goals and interests.
Key responsibilities:
- Event and Operational Lead for Domestic Matches
- Assume role of Event Manager for Sheffield Shield, One Day Cup, WNCL and Women’s T20 Tournament matches, ensuring detailed planning, delivery and execution.
- Support Cricket Operations Lead on administration support and delivery when required.
- Act as liaison between SACA and AOSMA for all matches, to ensure all SACA requirements are met
- Assist Head of Events & Match Day with the detailed planning, logistics and execution of all agreed Cricket Matches & Events
- Manage all event documentation and communication including but not limited to event plans, briefs, run sheets and other relevant match information.
- Manage all temporary infrastructure builds in accordance with relevant venues, councils and other stakeholders.
- Ensure areas are staffed adequately on match day with casual staff for WBBL and BBL.
- Continue to build and improve processes that will effectively ensure the delivery of each match and event
- Drive the detailed planning, documentation development, event operationalisation and review processes in SA relating to W/BBL and domestic cricket.
- Cricket and Match Operations
- Provide support to Cricket Operations aspects of all International and National matches to ensure SLAs are met.
- Support the planning and delivery of nominated Second XI and Premier Cricket Finals with Cricket Operations
- State Accreditation Lead
- Ensure all relevant staff are accredited in accordance with Cricket Australia’s accreditation guidelines
- Match Day Presentation & Operations
- In conjunction with Head of Events & Match Day, manage key stakeholders including Event Activation Agencies to ensure best practice event experience delivery for fans.
- Work in conjunction with the wider Commercial Department, Membership, Community Cricket and Cricket Department to ensure all requirements and obligations are met.
- Deliver best practice Event Presentation and Experience for Adelaide Strikers events in line with CA Event Presentation
- Venue Presentation
- Work closely with venue management across all major events to ensure venue cleanliness and venue presentation meets SACA/CA event standards
- Liaise with venue on any concerns and issues with presentation to ensure SACA exceeds fan expectations
- Manage Match Day Casual and event casual staff (including Flinders Uni Students) to ensure all relevant tasks required are met including but not limited to event bump in and out days
- Manage event team administrative tasks including invoicing, event storeroom space and stock management
- Functions
- Support the Head of Events & Match Day and Events Lead in the delivery of all event and hospitality aspects related to SACA Events, including but not limited to SACA Member Events, SACA Medal Nights, year-round hospitality, Village Green, any other event as required.
Would also be great if you have…
- Experience in operations and event administration – minimum 3 years (in absence of an equivalent tertiary qualification)
- Experience across a wide and diverse range of small to large scale events.
- Demonstrated knowledge of event management processes.
- Hold a valid WWCC or have the ability to obtain one
- Ability to manage high workloads and meet deadlines withing specific timeframes
- High attention to detail
- Sound computer skills including word processing, database and spreadsheet management
- Strong stakeholder management, leadership competence, communications and networking skills
- Ability to demonstrate initiative, innovation, and superior organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple, concurrent incoming work streams effectively and efficiently.
About SACA
The SACA is one of the nation’s premier sporting bodies, with a vision for cricket to be Australia’s favorite sport – a sport for all Australian’s. Operating within the sports and entertainment industry, SACA offers an exciting and dynamic working environment, and is responsible for overseeing and developing cricket on a State level.
The SACA is responsible for coordinating international and domestic cricket matches, Premier cricket matches and community carnivals, coaching and development and pathway programs for girls and boys, coaching, umpiring, volunteer development and ground management. It also administers high performance cricket in South Australia, including the SA Men’s and Women’s Teams and Adelaide Strikers women’s and men’s teams.
