About the Role
SACA is looking for an experienced Junior Participation Leader to join our Community Cricket team. The Junior Participation Leader will play a crucial role in providing strategic oversight, operational support and collaboration throughout SACA and Cricket Australia for the Community Cricket Department to develop the entry level components and initiatives within the Australian Cricket Pathway.
This role will also involve significant responsibilities in leading the implementation and delivery of the state and national entry level strategies, including but not limited to Woolworths Cricket Blast and Adelaide Strikers Holiday Programs participation opportunities. All responsibilities and activity are made with data led decision-making and aligned with the SACA’s strategic goals.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead implementation of the statewide Woolworths Cricket Blast strategy to maximise participation opportunities.
- Liaise with Cricket Australia to contribute to the development of the Woolworths Cricket Blast program and drive national priorities in South Australia.
- With the support of the Cricket Officers and wider department, facilitate the successful delivery of the School Visit Program to promote and drive awareness of entry level programs and junior cricket whilst creating a connection between clubs and schools.
- Project manage the Adelaide Strikers Holiday Programs, including opportunities for expansion.
- Lead Woolworths Cricket Blast coordinator training opportunities and drive initiatives to improve the quality of programs.
- Manage the Government Sports Vouchers process for Community Cricket in conjunction with finance department.
- Collaborate the development and implementation of the marketing and communications plans associated with entry-level programs and SACA initiatives.
- Promote and support funding initiatives, ensuring alignment with state or nation participation objectives.
- Mentor and support the Junior Participation Specialist as a direct report.
- Manage the budget relating to role responsibilities, ensuring the effective use of Cricket Australia and partnership funding and other relevant grants/monies.
- Lead the recruitment, training, professional development, ongoing support and management of the Casual Cricket Officer field force.
- Support the delivery of Woolworths Cricket Blast activations for W/BBL and Domestic fixtures.
- Lead the planning, implementation and delivery of Woolworths Cricket Blast activations and entry level initiatives at International fixtures.
- Maximise cricket’s assets to convert fans to participants and vice versa.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations including partners and sponsors, MOU and department specific contractual arrangements.
- You will hold a valid Working with Children Check or have the ability to obtain one.

- Experience in using and maintaining databases or CRM software.
- RAN Masterclass Certificate or be willing to obtain one prior to commencement.
- Understanding of community sport and the Australian Cricket Pathway.
- Demonstrated experience planning and coordinating entry level and junior participation projects, events and programs.
- Proven track record to drive, plan and implement strategic objectives and data led decision making.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to positively influence, manage and build strong internal and external stakeholder relationships.
- Experience working with children.
- Previous experience managing team members.
- Experience coordinating, engaging and presenting to large groups of people.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
About SACA
The SACA is one of the nation’s premier sporting bodies, with a vision for cricket to be Australia’s favorite sport – a sport for all Australian’s. Operating within the sports and entertainment industry, SACA offers an exciting and dynamic working environment, and is responsible for overseeing and developing cricket on a State level.
The SACA is responsible for coordinating international and domestic cricket matches, Premier cricket matches and community carnivals, coaching and development and pathway programs for girls and boys, coaching, umpiring, volunteer development and ground management. It also administers high performance cricket in South Australia, including the SA Men’s and Women’s Teams and Adelaide Strikers women’s and men’s teams.
