Due to continued growth, SACA is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Media and Communications Manager to lead a whole-of-business approach to communications. This is a rare opportunity to shape and deliver an integrated communications strategy that enhances SACA’s reputation, strengthens stakeholder relationships, and elevates engagement across South Australia and beyond.
About the Role
As a senior leader within our Media, PR and Communications function, you will play a pivotal role in aligning communications activity with SACA’s strategic priorities. You’ll lead the development and execution of integrated media, PR and communications initiatives—showcasing SACA’s leadership in community engagement, diversity and inclusion, participation pathways, and corporate affairs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver SACA’s integrated Communications, Media & PR strategy
- Provide leadership to the Media, PR and Communications team, driving performance and alignment across the business
- Act as the central point of contact for corporate affairs and issues management
- Drive and deliver globally leading media operations for international cricket fixtures in South Australia
- Collaborate closely with Cricket Australia, broadcasters, government and key stakeholders
- Oversee match-day communications operations, including team planning and rostering
- Lead development and execution of the SACA Annual Report
- Establish reporting frameworks to track and improve communications performance
- Manage communications budgets and ensure strong financial governance
- Maintain brand integrity and consistency across all messaging and platforms
- Oversee and optimise SACA’s website content and digital presence
- Build and maintain strong relationships with media, industry stakeholders, sponsors and partners
- Stay ahead of emerging trends to ensure SACA’s communications remain innovative and competitive
About You
You are a strategic and innovative communications leader with a passion for storytelling and stakeholder engagement. You thrive in fast-paced environments and bring a strong network within the media landscape. You will demonstrate:
- Proven leadership experience managing diverse teams in dynamic environments
- 8+ years’ experience in media, journalism or communications (degree qualified preferred)
- Extensive media and journalism background, with strong South Australian media networks
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
- A track record delivering impactful media relations campaigns
- Strong strategic thinking with the ability to execute at both strategic and operational levels
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality outcomes
- Flexibility to support key events, including weekends and out-of-hours work when required
About SACA
The SACA is one of the nation’s premier sporting bodies, with a vision for cricket to be Australia’s favorite sport – a sport for all Australian’s. Operating within the sports and entertainment industry, SACA offers an exciting and dynamic working environment, and is responsible for overseeing and developing cricket on a State level.
The SACA is responsible for coordinating international and domestic cricket matches, Premier cricket matches and community carnivals, coaching and development and pathway programs for girls and boys, coaching, umpiring, volunteer development and ground management. It also administers high performance cricket in South Australia, including the SA Men’s and Women’s Teams and Adelaide Strikers women’s and men’s teams.
