Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill the position of Manager – Umpire Development. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development, training, and performance management of umpires at all levels within Sri Lanka.
Main Job Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive umpire development strategy aligned with SLC’s goals.
- Design and deliver training programs, workshops, and seminars for umpires.
- Establish and maintain a performance evaluation system for umpires.
- Coordinate the appointment of umpires for domestic and international matches.
- Manage the recruitment and selection process for new umpires.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to aspiring and experienced umpires.
- Stay updated on the latest laws of cricket and umpiring techniques.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders, including the ICC and other cricket boards.
- Represent SLC at national and international umpiring forums.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Physical Education, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in umpire development or a similar role.
- Deep understanding of the laws of cricket and umpiring protocols.
- Proven track record in designing and delivering training programs.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in MS Office and other relevant software.
- Experience as a high-level umpire (national or international) is highly desirable.
