Job Titles: Stoke-on-Trent Cricket Development Officer (Full Time Role) & Support Officer (Part Time Role)
Location: Stoke-on-Trent / Staffordshire
Salary: Competitive
Contract: 2 years initially with potential to extend
Job Purpose
To lead the delivery and development of a new cricket project, including the establishment of a sustainable, community-focused cricket hub in and around Hanley Park, Stoke-on-Trent.
The role will work in partnership with Stoke-on-Trent City Council to increase participation, develop local workforce capacity, and create inclusive cricket opportunities for all ages and abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and embed a sustainable, community-led cricket hub.
- Build strong partnerships with schools, community organisations, and local stakeholders.
- Deliver cricket activity across local schools, support and train teachers to become confident in delivering cricket sessions.
- Deliver year-round All Stars Cricket and Dynamos Cricket programmes ensuring sessions are inclusive, engaging, and aligned to national programme standards.
- Promote female participation and leadership within the communities
- Develop and deliver Tapeball cricket leagues for age appropriate participants utilising new community facilities.
- Deliver a walking cricket programme, targeting older adults and inactive groups.
- Recruit, train, and support volunteers providing ongoing development opportunities and pathways into coaching and leadership

Staffordshire Cricket are firmly committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment for children and adults to enjoy the game of cricket. This post requires an Enhanced ECB DBS check for regulated activity with children. The successful applicant will be required to obtain an ECB DBS check before commencing work.

Person Specification
Essential
- Experience in sports development, community engagement, or cricket delivery particularly in under-served communities
- Cricket Coaching Qualification (e.g ECB Core Coach or Foundation Coach or its equivalent)
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Experience working with children, schools, and community groups
- Ability to recruit, motivate, and manage volunteers
- Passion for increasing participation and inclusion in sport
Desirable
- Experience delivering All Stars or Dynamos Cricket programmes
- Knowledge of the local area and stakeholder networks
Additional Requirements
- Flexible approach to working hours (evenings/weekends required)
- Full UK driving licence and access to transport
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain)
- Commitment to safeguarding and equality, diversity, and inclusion
