FREELANCE JOB OPPORTUNITY AT TNTSPORTS.CO.UK
ROLE OVERVIEW

TNT Sports is looking for freelance sub-editors to join its web & app team, starting immediately.
You will work across multiple sports.
This role requires evening and weekend work.
In-office attendance – in Gunnersbury – is welcomed but not essential, apart from training.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
🔹Sub-edit headlines and copy, ensuring internal best practices are followed
🔹Ensure all content is factually accurate, legally compliant, grammatically correct and free of typos
🔹Ensure content follows house style, TNT-specific formatting and SEO best practices

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
🔹Experience as a sub-editor in a digital sports media or newsroom environment
🔹Strong knowledge of multiple sports and disciplines – particularly football, rugby, snooker, tennis, cycling, Summer and Winter Olympics, UFC, boxing, cricket, athletics, Le Mans, MotoGP and more. Understanding the rules, terminology and key narratives of these sports is essential
🔹Exemplary attention to detail

EXPECTATIONS:
🔹Headlines are concise, typo-free and accurate
🔹Copy is clean, consistent and reflects the house style guidelines
🔹Errors are caught before publication
🔹You can sub quickly and confidently without compromising quality, with a particular focus on speed when handling breaking news alerts
