Communications Executive
Utilita Bowl, Southampton

We're seeking a Communications Executive who excels in copywriting and PR, with strength in long-form content. You'll create compelling content across all customer touchpoints supporting Hampshire Cricket and our diverse portfolio: Boundary Lakes Golf Course, BEEFY'S restaurant, Hilton Southampton, Hampshire Wellbeing Centre, and eforea spa. This is primarily a copywriting and editorial role, with opportunities to support filming and photography for content creation.
Key Responsibilities
Content & Communications
- Create copy for all digital touchpoints: social media, website, email campaigns, digital platforms
- Write long-form content: match reports, player features, editorial pieces
- Develop PR materials, press releases, and media communications
- Produce marketing copy for commercial partnerships and campaigns
- Write scripts and supporting content for video productions
- Cover matches with general narrative, pre and post match interviews, and live content
- Support filming and photography for content creation across all platforms
Digital Strategy & Social Media
- Maintain consistent tone of voice across all platforms and brands
- Manage social media communications and build engaged communities
- Coordinate user-generated content (UGC) and manage photography assets
- Create email marketing and digital communications
- Work closely with design team on brand development and visual consistency
- Create editorial content engaging diverse audiences
Your Skills, Experience & Competencies
Essential Skills / Experience:
Skills
- Exceptional copywriting across multiple formats and platforms
- Proven long-form content and editorial writing experience
- PR writing: press releases, media communications, PR materials
- Digital marketing understanding: email marketing, social media, digital platforms
Experience
- Minimum 3 years in communications, copywriting, or content marketing
- Digital marketing platforms and content management experience
- Social media management, community building, and UGC coordination experience
Personal Attributes
- Exceptional attention to detail and writing quality
- Genuine excitement for content
- Strong project management across multiple content streams and social platforms
- Collaborative approach working closely with design teams on brand development
- Flexible mindset and ability to pivot quickly, the sports world moves fast and priorities can shift rapidly
Desirable skills:
- Degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, Media
- PR agency or sports communications experience
- Photography and videography skills
- Hospitality, leisure, or sports industry experience
- SEO and content optimisation understanding

Working Hours & Location
This role is based at Utilita Bowl, Botley Road, West End, Southampton, SO30 3XH. Standard hours are Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm, with regular requirements to work evenings and weekends during the season for matchdays and major events.
