Are you ready to make a real impact across regional WA? We’re looking for an enthusiastic and driven Cricket Manager to lead the growth, participation, and sustainability of cricket across the Great Southern region & Esperance. This full-time role will be based in Albany, WA.
This is an opportunity to work at the heart of regional cricket, connecting communities, developing clear pathways, and supporting clubs, schools, and volunteers to build strong, sustainable programs.
As Cricket Manager, you will play a key leadership role in driving the development of cricket across the region. You’ll work closely with stakeholders at all levels to deliver inclusive, sustainable programs and pathways for players of all ages and abilities.
How you’ll make an impact
- Engage and collaborate with the Great Southern and Goldfields Regional Cricket Boards on a regular basis to ensure an aligned strategic direction for all cricket across the region.
- Develop, maintain and leverage effective relationships with key regional stakeholders, including clubs, associations, schools and School Ambassadors, State and Local Government, local media, and business partners.
- Partner with schools, and School Ambassadors across the Great Southern region and Esperance to help plan and facilitate the delivery of school cricket programs and carnivals.
- Facilitate strong, sustainable connections between schools and community clubs to create clear and inclusive participation pathways that reflect the population and diversity of the Great Southern region and Esperance.
- Provide leadership and direction to both paid and volunteer resources supporting the delivery of cricket programs within schools and communities across the region.
- Work with Regional Cricket Stakeholders (Great Southern and Goldfields Regional Cricket Boards, Regional Associations, and clubs) to develop the optimal junior participation pathway for boys and girls across the Great Southern Region and Esperance – from Cricket Blast to Junior formats and into Senior Cricket.
- Support clubs and associations by connecting them with club development initiatives and volunteer management resources to enhance capacity and deliver high‑quality cricket experiences for all members.
- Work with the WAC Country Coach and Talent Development Specialist in the coordination and delivery of coach development and accreditation programs as well providing optimal support to the development of identified talented cricketers through pathway programs and regional academies.
- Ensure all regional program and participation data is current and accurately recorded in the Australian Cricket systems.
- Promote and maximise the adoption and effective use of Australian Cricket digital platforms and technology across the region.
A great fit for this role looks like
- Current Community Coaching Accreditation (Level One) or equivalent.
- Proven experience in community sport development and program delivery.
- Demonstrated capability in networking and engaging a broad range of stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of the game of cricket and proven ability to grow participation opportunities.
- Sound knowledge of the Western Australian school system to support effective delivery of cricket programs.
- Understanding of how community clubs and associations operate, including the challenges they face.
- Knowledge of contemporary volunteer management practices.
- High level of organisational and logistical skills to plan, coordinate and implement strategies to deliver and achieve agreed outcomes.
- Strong analytical skills to inform planning, decision‑making and strategy development.
- Understanding and ability to apply inclusion and diversity principles in all areas of operation.
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce high‑quality plans, reports and documentation.
- Current Working with Children Check.
- Current ‘C’ Class driver’s licence.
