WA Cricket is seeking an experienced, marketing led General Manager - Marketing & Communications to drive the end‑to‑end marketing and fan growth strategy for WA Cricket and the Perth Scorchers.

This executive role is responsible for shaping how our brands connect with fans, partners, media, government, and communities, driving audience growth, participation, commercial outcomes, and long term brand value across elite and grassroots cricket. You will lead integrated marketing, communications, digital, events and partnerships functions, ensuring every campaign, match day and moment delivers impact and exceptional fan experience.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this role plays a critical leadership role across Big Bash League and International Cricket initiatives, working closely with Cricket Australia and key stakeholders to deliver best‑in‑class marketing, brand and fan outcomes.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Lead the end‑to‑end marketing, brand and communications strategy for WA Cricket and the Perth Scorchers, aligned to organisational priorities and commercial objectives.
  • Drive fan growth and engagement through integrated marketing campaigns, content, events and digital channels across elite and community cricket.
  • Lead an integrated communications and media strategy that strengthens brand reputation and supports marketing, high performance, membership, ticketing, participation, and commercial objectives.
  • Own and evolve the brand strategy and positioning for WA Cricket and the Perth Scorchers, strengthening visibility, reputation and differentiation in the market.
  • Provide executive oversight of major marketing campaigns, ensuring strong ROI across ticketing, participation, partnerships and brand impact.
  • Lead a data‑driven digital and content strategy, setting targets for audience growth, engagement and performance, and optimising through insight and analytics.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media, government, partners and key stakeholders, leading issues management and reputation outcomes.
  • Oversee the strategic development and activation of commercial and charity partnerships, integrating partner value into marketing, content and fan experiences.
  • Lead the planning and delivery of major events, including Big Bash, International matches and key stakeholder events, ensuring exceptional fan and partner experiences.
  • Manage the strategic relationship with Cricket Australia across WBBL, BBL and International Cricket, ensuring alignment, SLA governance and delivery excellence.
  • Provide inspirational leadership to multi‑disciplinary teams, with full accountability for budgets, performance, capability development and resource allocation.

  • Tertiary degree qualification in a relevant area
  • Proven executive level experience leading marketing, brand and communications functions within a complex, high profile organisation.
  • Demonstrated success delivering audience growth, fan or customer engagement, and commercial outcomes through integrated marketing strategies.
  • Strong strategic marketing capability, with experience developing and executing multi channel campaigns across digital, content, events and partnerships.
  • Deep understanding of brand strategy, positioning and reputation management, ideally within sport, entertainment, media or consumer‑facing environments.
  • Experience leading digital and content teams, with a data driven approach to performance measurement, analytics and optimisation.
  • Proven ability to manage and activate commercial partnerships, aligning brand, marketing and fan engagement objectives with partner outcomes.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience working with media, government, boards, senior executives and major external partners.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability leading multi‑disciplinary teams, building capability, accountability and high performance cultures.
  • Sound commercial acumen, including budget ownership, ROI optimisation and resource prioritisation at an enterprise level.
  • Experience working in or alongside elite sport, major events, broadcasting or membership‑based organisations will be highly regarded.
