The Opportunity

The Yorkshire County Cricket Club is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of a portfolio of high-profile strategic projects that sit at the heart of the Club’s long-term vision.

Working closely with the Director of Strategy and the Executive Team, you will bring clarity, structure and momentum to complex projects spanning stakeholder engagement, capital development and investment-related initiatives.

This is a hands-on, autonomous role suited to someone who thrives in fast-moving, ambiguous environments and is confident working with senior leaders to drive progress, challenge constructively and ensure delivery to a high standard.

The role is offered on a part-time basis for an initial 6-month period, with the potential for extension subject to business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of the Club’s strategic projects and programmes.
  • Translate strategic objectives into clear, robust project and programme plans.
  • Track and manage complex interdependencies across multiple workstreams.
  • Design and embed a fit-for-purpose project and programme management framework across the Club.
  • Develop and maintain project tools, including plans, risk and issue registers, dependency maps, cost and resource tracking, and executive dashboards.
  • Establish effective governance, reporting cycles and decision-making processes.
  • Provide clear, concise reporting to the Executive Team, highlighting risks, issues and emerging pressures early.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to Executive sponsors, supporting delivery discipline and strategic alignment.
  • Support effective engagement with internal and external stakeholders across high-uncertainty projects.

About You

You will be an organised, confident and detail-focused professional with a strong track record of delivering complex projects in senior environments. You will be comfortable working independently, influencing senior stakeholders and navigating ambiguity.

Essential experience and qualifications:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a senior project or programme management role.
  • Proven delivery of complex projects with multiple interdependencies.
  • Experience working closely with senior leaders or executive-level stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable experience building or improving project management frameworks, tools and processes.
  • A recognised project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2 Practitioner, MSP, APM, PMP or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of a range of delivery methodologies (waterfall, agile or hybrid).

Desirable experience:

  • Experience across infrastructure, capital development, investment or stakeholder-led projects.
  • Background in strategy-led or transformation environments.
  • Experience producing executive-level reporting and dashboards.
