The Opportunity
Zimbabwe Cricket is seeking a high-calibre Head Coach to lead the Zimbabwe Women’s National Team during a historic phase, as we embark on our inaugural campaign in the ICC Wornen’s Championship. This marks a significant milestone for Zimbabwean cricket. The successful candidate will be a strategic and inspirational leader capable of establishing the team as a competitive force among the world’s top cricketing nations. The role will focus on elevating professional standards and ensuring the team is physically, mentally and tactically prepared for the demands of elite international competition.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement technical and tactical strategies tailored for success against Full Member nations in ODI and T20I formats.
- Build and sustain a high-performance team culture grounded in unity, accountability and excellence on and off the field.
- Ensure effective coordination and communication within the coaching and support staff structures.
- Serve as the primary technical link between the Senior Women’s Team and pathway structures, including Under-19, ‘A’ team and High-Performance programmes.
- Establish clear communication channels with pathway coaches to support a transparent, merit-based progression system for emerging talent.
- Define and implement the team’s playing philosophy, style and performance objectives.
- Work closely with selectors to identify, nurture and develop players capable of consistently performing at international level.
The Ideal Candidate
- Holds a Level 3 Coaching Qualification (or higher) from a recognised ICC Full Member nation.
- Demonstrates proven experience coaching at international level or within professional domestic structures (First-Class/Franchise cricket).
- Experience in women’s international cricket will be a strong advantage.
- Possesses exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across organisational structures.
- Exhibits high emotional intelligence and professionalism in managing diverse high-performance environments.
- Has a deep understanding of the demands associated with transitioning a team into higher tiers of global competition.
