Mohammad Rizwan named ODI captain for West Indies series; Babar, Shaheen return to squad

Pakistan announces squads for T20I and ODI series against West Indies, with Rizwan leading in ODIs and Salman Ali Agha captaining the T20 side across the USA and Caribbean tour

Lahore, 25 July 2025: Mohammad Rizwan has been named captain of the Pakistan ODI team for the upcoming three-match series against West Indies, starting 8 August 2025, the Men’s National Selection Committee announced on Friday. All three ODIs will be played at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad & Tobago.

Star players Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah Afridi are included in the 16-member ODI squad, while right-handed batter Hasan Nawaz is the only uncapped player selected.

Before the ODI leg, Pakistan will face West Indies in three T20Is on 31 July, 2 August, and 3 August at the Central Broward Park & Broward County Stadium in Lauderhill, USA. Salman Ali Agha will lead the T20I side, with fast bowlers Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali, and Shaheen Shah Afridi returning to the format.

Pakistan is currently touring Bangladesh and will arrive in the USA on Sunday, 27 July to begin their Caribbean and North American campaign.
