He was appointed Canada’s captain in July 2024, having previously represented Combined Campuses and Colleges in the West Indies domestic four-day league, Jamaica Tallawahs in the Caribbean Premier League, and Montreal Tigers and Toronto Nationals in the Global T20 in Canada. Kirton last led Canada in a 12-run loss to Namibia on March 15 at Wanderers Cricket Ground.
