Doug Bracewell handed two-year suspension after positive cocaine test

Former Essex all-rounder accepts sanction from Cricket Regulator following in-competition adverse analytical finding in 2025

The Cricket Regulator has imposed a two-year suspension on former Essex CCC cricketer Doug Bracewell.

Mr Bracewell produced an Adverse Analytical Finding (AAF) for the presence of cocaine and its Metabolite, benzoylecgonine, related to an In Competition sample collected on the 25th September 2025.

Mr Bracewell and his former County are aware and the player has accepted the sanction. No further comment will be made on this matter.
