Oman Cricket has announced that the nation’s first-ever ‘Omani Youth Skills Day’ will be held from 7 pm onwards on May 25, 2022 at the Oman Cricket Academy. The upper age limit for participation is 16 years.

The objective of this initiative is to further promote the sport of cricket among the Omani youth of the region and identify the ones with an active interest and innate talent in the game.

The day will consist of fun-filled activities such as longest throw competition, target throw competition, maximum distance stationary ball hitting competition and target hitting competition.

Evert Laubscher, Academy Manager Oman Cricket said, “We are very excited to be hosting the first ever Omani Youth Skills Day. It will be a fun filled day for everyone involved, with prizes and gift hampers to win. This is a great opportunity for the youth of Oman who have not been exposed to cricket, to come and learn a few different skills associated with the game. It will also be an opportunity for us to scout and identify some future talent that we can then involve in the Oman Cricket Academy system”.

The ‘Omani Youth Skills Day’ is a part of Oman Cricket’s Grassroots program.
