The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that Bangladesh will tour Pakistan in May for a five-match men’s T20I series, serving as preparation for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
Originally scheduled as part of the Future Tours Programme (FTP) with three ODIs and three T20Is, both boards have agreed to replace the ODIs with two additional T20Is to better align with T20 World Cup preparations.
Return of international cricket to Faisalabad
The series will also mark the return of international cricket to Faisalabad after 17 years. Iqbal Stadium, which last hosted an international match in 2008 (an ODI between Pakistan and Bangladesh), will stage the first two T20Is.
Known for its rich cricketing history, Iqbal Stadium previously hosted 24 Test matches and 16 ODIs between 1978 and 2008. It also recently hosted the inaugural Champions One-Day Cup and the National T20 Cup, showcasing its readiness for international fixtures.

The five-match series will be held across Faisalabad and Lahore between 25 May and 3 June 2025. All matches are scheduled to begin at 8:00 PM local time.

Strategic T20I focus ahead of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026
Both Pakistan and Bangladesh view the series as a key part of their roadmap towards the T20 World Cup in 2026. The extended series format offers teams more opportunity to test combinations, strengthen player roles, and gain momentum ahead of the global event.
This series will also give fans a chance to experience night cricket at iconic Pakistani venues including the storied Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, which hosts the final three matches.
With high stakes and national pride on the line, the Pakistan vs Bangladesh T20I series promises competitive cricket and marks another milestone in the revival of international cricket in Pakistan.
