Pakistan Super League reveals new branding ahead of its landmark 11th season, with two new franchises, overseas match discussions, and Lahore set to host the opening clash on March 26.

HBL Pakistan Super League PSL 11 new logo design with updated league branding.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially unveiled the logo for the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), signaling the final phase of preparations for what is set to be a landmark season for the tournament.

PSL 11 will introduce a major structural change as the competition expands from six to eight franchises for the first time in its history. The season is scheduled to run from March 26 to May 3, with the opening ceremony and first match taking place at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.

New PSL 11 logo highlights start of a “new era”

The league revealed the official PSL 11 branding through its social media channels, describing the upcoming season as the beginning of a new chapter for the competition.

The design prominently features the Urdu word for eleven integrated with the numeral “11” to reflect the league’s latest edition.

The logo launch marks another step toward the start of a tournament that is expected to be one of the most significant in PSL history due to its expansion and evolving global ambitions.

Lahore to host PSL 11 opener as defending champions begin title defence

PSL Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer, while talking to the media, confirmed that defending champions Lahore Qalandars will kick off the season against tournament newcomers Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen.

The opening fixture will follow a ceremonial launch event at Gaddafi Stadium, which will host the first major action of the tournament.

While the full match schedule has yet to be released, officials have indicated that the early phase of the competition will be largely centered in Lahore.

Expansion to eight teams reshapes PSL landscape

PSL 11 will feature two additional franchises, taking the league to eight teams as part of the PCB’s long-term growth strategy.

Among the new teams are Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen and Pindiz, with both sides already making headlines through international player signings.

Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen have secured Australian star Marnus Labuschagne, while another franchise move has seen Sialkot Stallionz rebranded as Multan Sultans following a strategic partnership and ownership shift involving CD Ventures.

The rebranding has also boosted the franchise’s valuation Rs 1.85 billion to Rs 2 billion, reflecting the increasing commercial momentum behind the league.

Several international players have also joined the competition through direct signings, including Moeen Ali, Devon Conway, and Aaron Hardie.

Overseas PSL match under consideration

As the PSL continues to strengthen its international footprint, league officials are exploring the possibility of staging a match outside Pakistan to engage overseas fans.

“The schedule will be announced later this week, so everything will become clear. But definitely, this was an issue under consideration, that our overseas Pakistanis also want to enjoy the PSL and experience it,” Naseer said.

Officials are expected to provide clarity on whether such an overseas fixture could take place this season or in future editions once the complete schedule is released.

Peshawar hosting plans still under review

Another potential development under discussion is the prospect of hosting PSL matches in Peshawar for the first time.

League officials recently inspected the city’s stadium to assess its readiness for PSL fixtures, though certain infrastructure issues were identified during the visit.

“Our team visited the Peshawar stadium and found that a few things were not up to the mark, including the ground conditions. That’s why we shifted the National T20 Cup. Our effort is to take the PSL to Peshawar. Everything will be clarified by the end of this week,” he said.

If approved, matches in Peshawar would represent another expansion milestone for the league as it looks to broaden its geographic reach across Pakistan.

PSL enters next phase of global growth

With a new logo, additional teams, and discussions around overseas matches, PSL 11 is shaping up to be a transformative season for Pakistan’s flagship T20 competition.

The expanded format, combined with increased international participation and potential new venues, reflects the PCB’s ambition to position the PSL among the leading franchise leagues in global cricket.
