94 days after lifting the Test Mace, Bavuma and the champions hit the road
Nearly 100 days after their historic ICC World Test Championship 2025 (WTC) victory at Lord’s, the Proteas Men are bringing the Test Mace home — on a nationwide tour to celebrate with fans across South Africa.
On Tuesday, 23 September 2025, Captain Temba Bavuma and Head Coach Shukri Conrad will lead the Proteas Mace Tour, which will travel to six major cities over four days. Stops include Kimberley, Bloemfontein, Durban, Gqeberha, East London and Cape Town, with events designed to bring the WTC celebration to South Africans from all walks of life.
Although the team’s demanding post-victory schedule delayed an immediate tour, Bavuma emphasized that celebrating with the nation is a top priority.
“Winning the World Test Championship was a dream come true — but sharing that moment with our fans, in every corner of South Africa, is what will make it truly unforgettable,” said Bavuma.
