Rajasthan Royals (RR) have signed Lhuan-dre Pretorius as an injury replacement for Nitish Rana, who has been ruled out of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season due to injury.

South African batter Pretorius joins the Royals for his base price of INR 30 Lakh. The right-handed top-order player has featured in 33 T20 matches and has scored 911 runs with a highest score of 97, showcasing his ability to play impactful innings in the shortest format.

Promising young talent joins Royals squad

Pretorius adds depth to RR’s batting lineup at a crucial stage of the tournament. Known for his attacking stroke play and clean hitting, he will aim to seize this opportunity on the IPL stage as the Royals push for playoff qualification.

While Nitish Rana’s injury is a setback, the Royals hope Pretorius will fill the void with energy and intent. Rana had been a dependable middle-order option and his absence will be felt within the squad.

RR adjust strategy as IPL 2025 enters final phase

The signing of Pretorius marks RR’s second injury replacement of the season, following the addition of Nandre Burger for Sandeep Sharma. With both domestic and international talent in the mix, the Royals are reinforcing their squad depth for the high-pressure final leg of IPL 2025.

As the tournament progresses, all eyes will be on Pretorius to see if he can convert his domestic promise into consistent IPL performances.
