Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fast bowler Yash Dayal has been named in a second First Information Report (FIR), this time in Jaipur, for allegedly raping a minor girl on multiple occasions. The complaint accuses him of using promises of a cricketing career to lure the survivor.
New complaint filed in Jaipur
The FIR, registered at Sanganer Sadar Police Station, alleges that Dayal assaulted a girl who was 17 years old at the time of the first reported incident in 2023. The case includes provisions under Section 64 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which carries a minimum sentence of 10 years, as well as relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
“It is alleged that around two years ago, when the complainant was a minor, he raped her on multiple occasions after offering to help build her cricket career,” SHO Jaiman said. “This year, he contacted her again while in Jaipur for IPL duty, called her to his hotel, and allegedly raped her there.”
According to police, the complaint details multiple instances of alleged sexual assault, beginning in 2023 and continuing as recently as April this year.
Previous allegations in Ghaziabad
This latest case comes just weeks after Dayal faced a separate complaint in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. On July 6, the Indirapuram police station registered an FIR under Section 69 of the BNS, accusing him of sexually exploiting a woman under the pretext of marriage.
That complaint alleged that Dayal, who met the woman around five years ago, promised to marry her but repeatedly delayed the commitment while allegedly being involved with other women. The complaint was initially filed on June 21 through the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s Integrated Grievance Redress System (IGRS).
High Court stay on arrest
In relation to the Ghaziabad case, the Allahabad High Court stayed Dayal’s arrest earlier this month. A bench of Justices Siddhartha Varma and Anil Kumar ordered that “no coercive action” be taken against him until further hearings and directed the state counsel and complainant to submit counter-affidavits.
Investigation underway
Jaipur police confirmed that they are now working on gathering evidence in the new case, including recording the survivor’s detailed statement. Authorities stated that the investigation is being prioritized given the serious nature of the allegations.
Dayal, who was part of RCB’s squad in the 2024 IPL season, has not publicly commented on either case.
