Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fast bowler Yash Dayal has filed a counter-complaint against a woman who earlier accused him of sexual exploitation under the pretext of marriage. The development marks a dramatic turn in the case that first surfaced after an FIR was lodged against Dayal in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.
According to the contents of the complaint, obtained by NDTV, the woman claimed she was in a five-year relationship with Dayal and accused him of exploiting her both mentally and physically, allegedly under false promises of marriage. She reportedly submitted her complaint through the Integrated Grievance Redressal System (IGRS) portal to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Based on her complaint, Ghaziabad police registered an FIR under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Section 69, which pertains to sexual intercourse by deceitful means, including a false promise of marriage.
Dayal accuses woman of theft, financial deceit
In response, Yash Dayal has filed a three-page complaint with the Prayagraj police, requesting that a First Information Report (FIR) be lodged against the woman and several others, including two of her family members. His complaint was registered at the Khuldabad police station.
Dayal has alleged that the woman stole his iPhone and laptop and borrowed large sums of money from him over time. He claims the funds were requested for medical treatment for her and her family, with the assurance that they would be repaid — which, according to Dayal, never happened. He also alleged that she repeatedly borrowed money for shopping, stating he has evidence to support these claims.
The 27-year-old cricketer said he met the woman on Instagram in 2021, which is when their interaction began. He further claimed that his decision to take legal action came after learning that the woman had filed a case against him with Ghaziabad police.
Legal showdown intensifies
Dayal’s counter-complaint has added a layer of complexity to the ongoing legal proceedings. While the original FIR against him includes serious allegations under BNS Section 69, Dayal is seeking criminal action against the woman for what he describes as a pattern of deceit and financial manipulation.
The woman has reportedly submitted digital evidence in support of her claims — including screenshots, chat logs, video calls, and photos — although the case remains under investigation at this time.
With both parties filing serious allegations against each other, the matter is now likely to be closely scrutinized by law enforcement and may involve further legal developments in the coming weeks.
