Sean Jarvis, Chief Executive Officer of Leicestershire County Cricket Club, will step down from his role in the autumn of 2025 after completing a successful five-year tenure that has helped reshape the club’s future both on and off the field.
Jarvis joined Leicestershire in 2020 with a clear five-year strategic vision, which he says has now been fulfilled. His tenure saw Leicestershire win the One Day Cup—the club’s first major trophy in 14 years—and rise to the top of their current division. Under his leadership, the club also introduced its first Boca and laid foundations for continued growth in a rapidly evolving domestic cricket landscape.

Reflecting on his departure, Jarvis stated:
“I’m delighted to have played my part in the ongoing journey of Leicestershire County Cricket. When I joined in 2020, I set out a five-year plan and I’m pleased to have been able to deliver on that.”
“I’m proud to have overseen the One Day Cup success, which was our first trophy in 14 years. We now have a team that can compete on all fronts. Things are looking extremely positive for the future, both on and off the pitch.”
Jarvis also thanked the club’s staff for their support and reiterated his belief that Leicestershire is well-positioned to thrive in the next phase of its journey, especially as new financial investment linked to The Hundred begins to impact the domestic game.
Leicestershire begins search for next CEO
With Jarvis set to depart in the coming months, Leicestershire County Cricket Club will soon begin the process of identifying a new chief executive. The new leader will be expected to build on the current momentum, deepen community engagement, and expand the club’s corporate and commercial footprint.
John Thorpe, Chair of Leicestershire CCC, praised Jarvis’s leadership and resilience during a turbulent era that included the COVID-19 pandemic:
“Sean has been fantastic from day one. He’s had to contend with a lot, successfully steering the club through COVID and carefully managing operations. We’ve come through it with the potential now for an exciting future.”
New era for Leicestershire and domestic cricket
As the club looks to the future, Thorpe emphasized the unique sporting identity of Leicester—a city that boasts high-profile cricket, rugby, football, and basketball communities—as a vital asset in attracting new opportunities and partnerships.
“We’re actively searching for the right person to come in following Sean’s departure in the autumn and build on the solid foundations he’s established,” Thorpe said. “Significant investment is coming into the domestic game, and there’s huge potential to grow the club within the national and local landscape.”
