Colombo, Sri Lanka — Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), winners of the 1996 Cricket World Cup and 2014 ICC T20 World Cup, has announced plans to launch a comprehensive Merchandising Licensing Program aimed at expanding its global brand presence through officially licensed products.
To kick off the initiative, SLC is inviting Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from qualified and experienced sports brand licensing agencies with a proven international track record in merchandising and brand licensing.
Licensing program scope and timeline
The appointed partner or partners, to be selected via a transparent and competitive tender process, will manage the SLC Merchandising Licensing Program from 2026 to 2032. The role will include:
Identifying and onboarding reputed vendors
Designing, developing, distributing, and selling officially licensed SLC-branded or co-branded products
Managing apparel, accessories, collectibles, and other product categories
Advising on licensing business models and strategy
Leading vendor negotiations and relationship management
Monitoring performance and ensuring timely royalty reporting and revenue collection
Global and category-specific opportunities
Applicants may express interest in one or more capacities, including:
Global Market Agent
Territory-Based Agent
Category-Based Agent (e.g., apparel, accessories, collectibles)
Eligibility criteria
EOIs are invited exclusively from organizations that can demonstrate:
Proven expertise in sports brand licensing and merchandising
Operational capability to manage multi-category, multi-territory programs
Strong vendor networks, infrastructure, and market relationships
Financial capability to execute large-scale licensing operations
