The Sydney Sixers have suffered an injury blow with experienced seamer Sean Abbott ruled out for the immediate future with a moderate side strain suffered in the first innings of the club’s thrilling victory over cross-town rivals Sydney Thunder on Saturday night.
Abbott, who is the current leading wicket taker for BBL|09, won’t be available for the upcoming matches as the Sixers hit the road with the Australia-New Zealand Test match being played at the SCG. He has also been ruled out of the Australian ODI tour of India.
Abbott will continue to rehab with the Sixers with the view of returning to action before the end of the BBL season.
