ST JOHN’S, Antigua – Cricket West Indies (CWI) has kicked off a landmark year in women’s cricket with the return of the CG United Women’s Super50 Cup and T20 Blaze, hosted in St Vincent and the Grenadines from January 10 to February 1, 2026.
The two limited-overs tournaments bring together the top regional sides: Barbados, Jamaica, Leeward Islands, defending T20 Blaze champions Guyana, defending Super50 champions Trinidad & Tobago, and hosts the Windward Islands. The competitions serve as a crucial launchpad for a packed international calendar for the West Indies Women’s team.
T20 Blaze returns to Arnos Vale with triple-header action
The T20 Blaze will follow a round-robin format with a finals day on January 23. All matches will be held at the Arnos Vale Ground, with fans treated to daily triple-headers at 9:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m., and 7:00 p.m. — the final game under lights.
Guyana will look to defend their 2025 title after an undefeated campaign that ended in a dramatic Super Over win over Jamaica. The action-packed format will test team depth and offer emerging players the chance to make a mark ahead of a critical year for the women’s game.
Super50 Cup begins January 27 across three venues
After the T20 Blaze, attention turns to the CG United Women’s Super50 Cup, starting January 27. Matches will be played at Sion Hill, Park Hill, and Cumberland, all beginning at 9:30 a.m. daily.
Each team will play three games, with the top-ranked team crowned champions. Trinidad & Tobago enters as defending champions, having secured the 2025 title with a seven-wicket win over Barbados.
CWI prioritizes high-performance pathway and international readiness
“These tournaments are a critical starting point for what promises to be an extremely demanding and important year for women’s cricket in the Caribbean,” said Miles Bascombe, CWI Director of Cricket. “They provide the competitive intensity and performance benchmarks essential to prepare for major series and the ICC T20 World Cup.”
Bascombe highlighted the tournaments’ role in developing the high-performance pathway and ensuring that the best regional talent is ready for the busy 2026 international schedule.
Busy year ahead: Sri Lanka, Australia, Tri-series, and World Cup
Following the regional competitions, the West Indies Women’s team will host Sri Lanka in a white-ball series in February, followed by an all-format series against Australia. The summer will feature a tri-nation series with Ireland and Pakistan, building towards the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
Fans can follow all action live
All matches from both tournaments will be streamed live on the Windies Cricket YouTube channel. Ball-by-ball commentary and live scorecards will be available on the www.windiescricket.com Match Centre.
