The Professional Cricketers’ Association (PCA), the trade union for professional cricketers in England and Wales and its commercial arm, PCA Management Ltd, are looking to recruit a part-time Finance Manager to provide support to the growing finance function.
The PCA offers flexible working practices and has offices in London and Edgbaston Stadium, Birmingham. The role requires 2.5 days per week but the hours can be worked flexibly across the week and will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Main Responsibilities and Tasks
- Lead implementation of a new finance system to improve reporting and lead to overall efficiencies across the finance function.
- Monitor investment funds and process relevant accounting journals quarterly.
- Produce accurate financial reports to specific deadlines, including quarterly management accounts and re-forecasts.
- Monitor and produce cash flow forecasts.
- Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities, including working with the Commercial department to assess return on investment of all events.
- Lead planning and preparation of statutory accounts and process, including liaising with auditors to ensure annual monitoring is carried out.
- Develop external relationships with appropriate contacts, e.g. auditors, solicitors, bankers and statutory organisations such as HMRC.
- Lead payroll, VAT and HMRC processes.
- Monitoring and responding to emails received in the generic Finance Inbox.
- Work closely with the Senior Finance Assistant and support the CFO as required on any ad hoc requirements.
Knowledge Skills and Experience
- Proficient in Sage 50 Accounts (or similar) accounting package.
- Excellent MS Excel skills.
- A strong academic record, ideally to degree level or equivalent.
- Qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA).
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in finance.
- Managed year end processes.
- Proficiency in budget planning and financial controls.
- Experience of implementing a new financial system beneficial.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Have a track record of innovation and always looking for constant improvement to systems
