ST JOHN’S, Antigua — Cricket West Indies (CWI) has announced a 15-member squad for the CG United ODI Series against Pakistan, to be played at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba, Trinidad on August 8, 10, and 12.

The West Indies are aiming for a fourth consecutive home ODI series win after recent victories against England, Bangladesh, and a successful tour of the United Kingdom earlier in 2025. The series will close out the “Full Ah Energy” home schedule and offers valuable preparation ahead of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027.

Squad changes and player management

Fast bowler Alzarri Joseph has been given extended rest for workload management, while Romario Shepherd returns to the squad after missing matches against Ireland and England earlier this year.

“Pakistan presents a different test and challenge as we continue our push for automatic qualification for the 2027 World Cup,” Head Coach Daren Sammy said. “While qualifying is our immediate goal, maintaining a winning mentality and team cohesion is essential for long-term success.”

Sammy added that facing higher-ranked teams like Pakistan offers crucial opportunities to earn ICC ranking points and improve West Indies’ standing before the next World Cup cycle.
